Actor (Agadir, Morocco, 5.4.1988)
Marouane Zotti is an Italian actor. Born in Agadir in 1988, he grew up in Venice, and majored in Art and Performance Techniques at Ca’ Foscari Venice University (2011), before graduating at Piccolo Teatro School, under the direction of Luca Ronconi (2011-14). He attended also an high formation acting school Santa Estasi run by Antonio Latella (2015). In this period he had many experiences on stage in productions directed by Luca Ronconi, Enrico D’Amato, Giovanni Crippa, Laura Pasetti, Mauro Avogadro. In 2013 he won the Audience Award at national screenplay contest Salicedoro. In 2014-15 he took part at Ronconi’s production of Armida for Rossini Opera Festival and at the latest work directed by Ronconi, Lehman Trilogy by Stefano Massini. Zotti played also in 2015 in the production Bengal Tiger at the Baghdad Zoo by Luca Barbareschi for Teatro Eliseo, Roma. In 2017 he took part at the work L’ora di ricevimento (Banlieue) directed by Michele Placido from a play by Stefano Massini, also for Teatro Eliseo, Roma.
His first appearance on the big screen was for In Memory of Me by Saverio Costanzo, in competition at Berlinale 2007. After that, he took part in a short by British director Steve McQueen (Giardini, 2009) and to other film and TV productions, such as 2-episode miniseries Lampedusa, aired in September 2016 on RAI 1, where he plays a Maghrebi irregular immigrant, imprisoned in a detention center on the island. Lampedusa included in its cast also Venji Liam Alessandro Servina (Dhaki), Farid Elouardi (Adid), Ahmed Hafiene (Nemer), Nina Gary (Fatima), Martina Sammarco (Nadira), Simon Makonnen (Badu) and Sylvia Savy (Sana).
