Producer (Killeen, USA)

Dr. Tamara Pizzoli, born Tamara McPherson, is a native of Killeen, Texas. She studied at Southern Methodist University (Bachelor’s Degree in Psychology and Education) and at Texas A&M University-Commerce, getting her Master’s Degree in Elementary Education and Teaching in 2003 and her Ed.D. title in Philosophy, Educational, Instructional, and Curriculum Supervision in 2007. She settled down in Rome, Italy, in September 2007. In 2013, Tamara opened The English Schoolhouse, a boutique English language school primarily for kids in Rome. In the years since, it was expanded into a boutique publishing house, The English Schoolhouse Publishing, through which five books were launched.

She is the executive producer, for Pizzoli Media, of a documentary web series. Its pilot, called In Nero – Black Girls in Rome, was released on YouTube in October 2015. It features 15 Afrodescendant women, among them Tamara herself and singer/actress Amii Stewart, who share their experiences as expats, mostly from US, living in the Capital of Italy, and highlight pros and cons of Roman people when relating to black women.

Married to (and divorced from) an Italian man after seven years, she is the mother of two children, Noah and Milo.
