Ben Oduwole (Benjamin Oduwole)

Actor, director, screenplayer and producer (Ijebu, Nigeria, 12.13.1950)

Ben Oduwile was born in Ijebu, Ogun State, Nigeria, in 1950. From 1976 to 1979 he was in London, UK, and studied at London Television Production Center, getting a diploma in general photography and television production. From 1977 to 1979 he was at Barnfield College, School of Arts & Design in Luton, Bedfordshire, where he got a diploma in general photography. After a master in communication in US, he settled in Rome, Italy. In 1976 Ben married an Italian woman, who gave him two daughters. He started to work as professional photographer, but also as an actor and extra, and since late 1990s got roles in several popular TV series and film productions.

With Pennywise Pictures in 2010 produced a medium length film, called An African Wedding in Rome, starring Evaristus Ogbechie, Shade Michael and Maryjane, and the pilot for a series, JJ cerca casa, that was awarded as best sitcom at Mediterranean Experiences Festival 2011.

Ben runs the web tv Bentv. He is very active with his association Yoruba Cultural Association, founded in Rome in 1998, for the promotion of the Yoruba culture among the Italians and as a reference point for University students researching or writing thesis. In 2009 he wrote a children book, The Flying Tortoise (Eloquent Books).
