Ahmed Hafiene (Ahmed Ben Mouldi Hafiene)
Actor and director (Ksour Essaf, Tunisia, 10.1.1966)
Born in Ksour Essaf, at about 200 kilometers from Tunis, in 1966, Ahmed Hafiene graduated at ISAD (Institut Superieur d’Art Dramatique) in the capital, where he studied acting. He started his career in Tunisian theater and cinema, playing in important Tunisian films and TV series (Keswa, le fil perdu, 1996; Le Chant de la Noria, 2002; Poupées d’argile, 2002; El Kotbia, 2002; Le Professeur, 2012). In 2018 he won the Prize as Best Actor for Fatwa by Mahmoud Ben Mahmoud at Carthage Film Festival.
In Italy, where he is based and has received the citizenship, he acted in some TV productions (Chiara e Francesco, 2007; L’ombra del destino, 2011; Lampedusa, 2016) and in many feature films. In 2012 he realized his first film as a director, the short Poveri diavoli. In 2008 he got a nomination to David di Donatello Award as Best Supporting Actor for his performance in La giusta distanza and became member of the Academy of Italian Cinema, that every year since 1956 assign David di Donatello Awards to Italian films. In 2015 he received the Special Rossellini@Maiori Award.
