Lisa Donzell is a black actress and model, possibly born in US in the early 1930s. In the mid 1950s, she was mentioned a few times in the magazine Jet as a model and appeared also on the cover of this magazine, in the number released on August 15, 1957.
In Italy, she is known (as Liza Donzell) for playing the role of Evelyn in Marino Girolami’s comedy Gli italiani e le donne in 1962, in the episode I galli del Colosseo. She also featured as Shate in Carlo Veo’s jungle film Tarzak contro gli uomini leopardo in 1964, also known as Tarzak Against the Leopard Men or Ape Man of the Jungle.
Donzell was to appear later in two American productions, the low budget movie Murder in Mississippi (Joseph P. Mawra aka Joseph Prieto, 1965) and in an episode (season 2, episode 16, title Rome… Take Away Three) of the NBC TV series I Spy, featuring Bill Cosby and Robert Culp, in the role of Penelope.
She appeared also in the Italian magazine Men – Il settimanale degli uomini, no. 10 (March 10, 1967), in an article entitled I sogni di Lisa Donzell, nera di New York.
