Elijah Raynard Childs in Cari fottutissimi amici

Elijah Raynard Childs

Actor (USA, 9.25.1963)

Very little information is available on Elijah Raynard Childs, very likely a US-born non professional actor who was a shooting star in the Italian film and TV scene of early 1990s. He appeared in the role of Coleman in the 7 episodes TV series Aquile, filmed in 1989, aired by RAI 2 from March to April 1990 and launched as “Italian Top Gun”, being based in the Italian Air Force academy. It was directed and co-starred by Nini Salerno, former component of comical trio I Gatti di Vicolo Miracoli, but the direction of flight scenes was made by Antonio Bido. Aquile also starred Guadalupe born model, singer and TV host Cannelle aka Helena Viranin.

After that, he played the role of Sahid (credited as Chris Childs) in the first two seasons of another popular TV series, I ragazzi del muretto, broadcast by RAI 2 from March 1991 to November 1993, a young high school student of African origins who has an affair with Debora (Cecilia Dazzi).

Finally, he was chose by Mario Monicelli, one of the fathers of Italian comedy, to play in his Cari fottutissimi amici (Dear Goddamned Friends) the role of Washington, a black GI protected by an Italian family during the Nazi occupation and hired as fighter after the liberation by a quirky impresario performed by Paolo Villaggio.

After this role, Elijah was to disappear from Italian scene. Some databases have information about an Elijah Raynard Childs who is very likely our man, judging from the photos, who was based in Florida and had several problems with the law in the early 2010s.
