Actress (Dakar, Senegal, 8.5.1987)

Born in Senegal of an Italian father and a Senegalese mother. Grown up and based in Rome, after a degree in Contemporary History at Roma Tre University, she worked at the State Archive in Rome and was topping up her salary by working as a waitress when was invited to an audition for a role in what was to become the debut film by the TV entertainer Diego “Zoro” Bianchi. In Arance e martello, premiered at Venice Film Festival 2014, Cesarini plays Virginia, a second generation girl. After that, she attended for two years the Centro Studi Acting in Rome, directed by Lucilla Lupaioli. Her second role is in a Leonardo Pieraccioni’s pic, Il professor Cenerentolo, released in December 2015. Lorena featured also in the first TV series produced by the Italian branch of Netflix, Suburra: her intense role is that of Isabel Mbamba, the roman prostitute of Senegalese decent Aureliano Adami (Alessandro Borghi) has an affair with. In April 2018 Cesarini starred as lead in the short L’interprete, a project supported by Mutti Award, directed by the Italian-Belarusian director Hleb Papou, to be released in December 2018: the role is that of an interpreter hired by the Italian police to translate the phone conversations of a Nigerian woman charged for murder.
